PLEIADES
The search for a name for the planned data center led in 2007 to the PLEIADES name, the name of an open cluster. The reason for this is that both, the GRID and the connected data centers for the user can be considered as one unit, although it actually consists of a large number of services and individual computers.
PLEIADES
The Pleiades, also Atlanteans or Atlantiaden, are an open star cluster, which can be seen with the naked eye.
The Pleiades are visible from the middle of September to end of April in the northern night sky.
The cluster is about 380 light-years away from Constellation Taurus, comprises at least 1200 stars and is about 125 million years old.
