The focus of the group for Applied Computer Science within CSiS lies in the development of numerical methods such as parallel algorithms, effective methods for linear and non linear algebra problems and their application to financial mathematics.
The group coordinates the Marie Curie Research Training network COMSON. (Coupled Multiscale Simulations and Optimization in Nanoelectronics) and the BMBF project Numerical Simulation of multi scale models for high frequency circuits in the time domain.
In addition it has excellent connections to the finance sector, leading projects directly financed by ABN AMRO, London and Sparkasse Leverkusen. Master thesis' can be written in collaboration with finance institutes.
